Avril Cranston

Avril is an Architect with a wealth of experience in the commercial sector. Having studied Architecture at Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen, she went on to work in a number of practices before joining 3D Architects in 1996. She was quickly promoted to Associate Director and played a key role in large scale commercial developments. She was appointed Director in 2002 and took over the running of the Glasgow office three years later. She played a strategic role in the integration of 3D Architects and Reid Architecture when the two companies merged two years later and was appointed head of operations for the Scottish offices of 3DReid prior to her departure at the end of 2010. She set up Cranston Associates giving strategic advice on a range of commercial projects until setting up Ingram Architecture & Design with Stephen in 2012.

She has extensive knowledge of the commercial sector and brings with her particular expertise in the retail, leisure, hotel and office sectors.

She has acted for a number of retailers including a number of new build flagship stores in Scotland for Wm Morrison and leading a programme for rebranding their stores. She has a wealth of experience in city centre and out of town retail parks. She also has in depth knowledge and experience in dealing with the reuse of existing buildings, particularly Listed Buildings. She is a member of BCSC, RIBA and Women in Property.
